PE at Allonby Primary School
At Allonby Primary School, Physical Education (PE) is an integral part of our Curriculum that is inclusive and engages all pupils, in a supportive and challenging environment. We aspire for children to acquire, develop and refine their practical skills and techniques; to further their knowledge and understanding of PE concepts and principles and develop their overall competence, to enjoy, and excel in, a broad range of sports and physical activities. Our PE curriculum is delivered by school staff, however as part of the Sports Partnership we also have coaches coming into school to deliver sport specific short term coaching. All children also go swimming for a term of the school year.
We recognise the importance of our local area and as part of the curriculum we deliver outdoor learning sessions on our local beach where we explore problem solving opportunities and use the space enabled at low tide times as an extended playing space.
It is important that we always put the safety of our children first and risk assessments are completed for all activities. Copies of these are available on request.
