What “safeguarding” means at Allonby Primary School
Safeguarding is everything we do to keep children safe from harm and to help them thrive. That includes protecting children from abuse, preventing harm, and making sure every child grows up in a safe, caring environment.
Safeguarding covers three main areas:
- Prevention — a positive, respectful school culture and good pastoral support so children feel safe and supported.
- Protection — clear procedures, well-trained staff and prompt action when there are concerns.
- Support — working with families and other agencies to make sure children get the help they need to do well.
Our promise to families
At Allonby Primary we will:
- Put children’s safety and wellbeing first.
- Make sure children know how to get help and that they will be listened to.
- Train staff so they can spot and respond to concerns quickly and sensitively.
- Work with parents, carers and other agencies to support children and families.
